When Life Gets Tough, Put On Your Boxing Gloves

When Life Gets Tough, Put On Your Boxing Gloves

(( my new favorite quote ^^^)

So last was amazing. I teamed up with ATL Girl Gang and 20 other broads in the Fit Atlanta community for a group fitness class at FIT9.

FIT9 is a one-hour, full body workout which gets you from where you are to where you want to be. FIT9 blends the calorie-burning, fat-shredding elements of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with high-performance elements of metabolic conditioning (MetCon). We don’t stop there – we also incorporate elements from boxing and athletic training to produce best results.

This is how the class at FIT9 went:

10 of us began on the SkillMill (which is like a treadmill… but SO MUCH BETTER than a treadmill) and the other 10 of us started out on the floor. The group on the SkillMill had to do 15min of HIIT training—alternation of sprints and walking. The group on the floor did strength exercises such as mountain climbers, hamstring curls, pushups, box step ups, TRX moves, etc. Super fat-blasting combination strength moves!

After 15minutes, we switched! So those on the floor went to the SkillMill and vice versa. For the second half of the class, we switched again for another tag team floor/SkillMill workout. The group who started on the floor went back to the floor for 15minutes of boxing! The other group went back to the SkillMill to do agility moves. After 15 minutes, we switched again, and then finished the class with a nice stretch!

What I loved about the class is every 15minutes switching up the workout. It keeps it interesting.

One thing that sucks the fun out of exercise is doing the same thing over… and over… and over… again.

Like… bore me to tears.

My favorite part of the class was the boxing portion. ((maybe I just have a lot of aggression to get out?! HA.) But it was amazing. I felt so fierce and strong. FIT9 uses Aqua Training Bags — a large, tear-dropped shaped bag that is filled with 200lb of water. The water in the bag absorbs the reverberation energy from each hit to prevent damage to your joints and to allow you to train harder for longer (traditional boxing bags are filled with sand!)

The FIT9 workout was built to address all elements of your body, from endurance to heart health and everything in between, in one efficient, results-producing workout.

You’ll get a different workout every time you’re here. That creates muscle confusion, which increases stimulation and forces your muscles to adapt to new movements. Not only that, but you won’t get bored either – a different routine each time you visit the FIT9 gym keeps you mentally engaged and enthusiastic about your fitness routine.

If you live in Atlanta, travel here, make a day trip, whatever it is, you MUST try FIT9. You’ll love it! And it’s officially open for business today! If you have questions about the workout or the studio, comment below or send me an email! Let me know how you like it!
